If you’re a Hostess snack brand fan, you are not going to like this news.
You may or may not have heard that on today, November 16, 2012, Hostess, maker of the famous snack Twinkies, has laid off over 18,000 employees after a national strike and decided that it does not have a sufficient amount of workers to continue “normal operations” and was going to have to “begin the process of winding down and preparing for the sale of our iconic brands.”
This certainly was not an easy decision for Hostess Brands, I’m sure. But with all the competition in the snack food industry, as well as many people opting for healthier foods these days, it’s hard to stay afloat in this business.
And as for all the now unemployed former Hostess employees, I wish you all the best in finding work.
